An Open Letter

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand

From: A constituent in Bay Shore, NY

May 2

I’m writing to tell you that I am against the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act that just passed the House. While I’m against anti-semitism in every sense, the Act is a slippery slope and equates any criticism of Israeli policy with hate speech against marginalized groups. Israel is a country and does not represent the Jewish religion. Any criticisms of its policies or actions should not fall under any protections. I urge you to vote against this Act when and if it’s brought to the Senate.
